This weekend saw the second big event on the 2020 award season calendar with the Critics’ Choice Awards. Traditionally a less formal event than the Globes or the Oscars, the red carpet often results in some more boundary-pushing looks – and this year did not disappoint. From Zendaya’s Tom Ford breast plate to some fun pops of colour, here were our top 10 looks of the night.

She barely puts a foot wrong on the red carpet and last night’s ensemble was a perfect example of Zendaya pushing the boundaries to excellent effect. The Euphoria star looked sensational in a hot pink Tom Ford two-piece, which featured a metallic breastplate and a floor-length skirt.
2. Renée Zellweger
This award season has seen Renée Zellweger take an incredibly chic approach to the red carpet, from her icy blue Golden Globes ensemble to this strapless Dior couture frock.
3. Laura Dern
It has been a colourful start to the decade on the red carpet with Laura Dern continuing the trend in a bright orange Emilia Wickstead gown, which was a perfect fit for the night.
4. Margaret Qualley
A fan of understated elegance, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood‘s Margaret Qualley looked sweet and sophisticated in an embellished cream Miu Miu dress with bow detail for the Critics’ Choice Awards.
5. Florence Pugh
Florence Pugh brought some glamour to the red carpet in exactly the right way, wearing a sparkly Prada column gown to the awards and teaming it with dangly earrings, white Jimmy Choo court shoes and an elegant updo.

Phoebe Waller Bridge proved once again that a black dress is not always a boring option for the red carpet. The Fleabag creator looked beautiful in a one-shouldered, tulle Dior couture gown.

Another actress opting for orange on the night was Alison Brie, who looked elegant in a structured column dress by Brandon Maxwell.
8. Kristen Bell
Lime green is also proving to be a popular red-carpet trend for 2020, one which Kristen Bell clearly approves of. The actress wore a top and trousers by Cong Tri in the vibrant hue for the occasion, which featured a dramatic train. She teamed it with matching shoes and some long, dangly earrings.

Kaitlyn Dever is quickly becoming one of our favourite stars to watch on the red carpet, bringing a feminine touch to any event with her choice of frocks, from that floral Valentino gown to this beautiful and delicate Dior number.
